8 pieces by Franco Cesarini – 4 original and 4 arrangements – have been selected to the Bandworld Top 100 Music. This music will be read with the band directors attending the Western International Band Clinic and the American Band College. In addition, ABC/Bandworld/WIBC started a reading session at the Oregon Music Educators Association Conference to perform many of the Top 100 pieces. The scores of these pieces will become part of the Center for Research in Concert Band Literature ABC which, with more than 47.000 scores, is the biggest collection in the world.
Over the past several weeks ABC/Bandworld/WIBC have completed listening to all the new band music in print for 2024-25 as well as some important reissues. This will be the 32nd year to have a director’s reading band at the WIBC convention and will be the 37th at ABC. Band directors from more than 40 states and 5 countries will be reading this music and will have this list to share their favorites with their colleagues.
