Interlude for Band was first performed in 1987 by the National Youth Wind Band of Switzerland under the baton of Felix Hauswirth. The composition is based on a three-note motif and includes many interesting rhythmic accompanying figures. The piece is characterised by the virtuosic performance of the themes by the woodwinds. All in all, an interesting composition that is easy to listen to, but demanding to perform.
