A Festival Anthem

Two basic motifs determine the development of this composition: the first, fanfare-like in character, can be heard in the introduction. The second is an imitation of the famous chimes of Big Ben in London. The main theme takes form from this latter motif, in combination with a counterpoint. The second part of the composition sees the development of the aforementioned motifs and themes. The Big Ben motif has the character of an ostinato. A return of the original theme leads to the finale.
