“Decimino” – Ensemble Filarmonica di Lugano conducted by Franco Cesarini

Even in gloomy times, opportunities arise, opportunities that allow to glimpse at a normality that we all long for. For all of us the desire to “start over” was strong and so was the wish to get together and reunite.

Also for the Civica Filarmonica di Lugano, this “new beginning” had an unexpected flavor, combined with the desire to give renewed impulses to projects, dreams and ambitions that had remained in the drawer for too long.

For the Civica Filarmonica and its Maestro, Franco Cesarini, this opportunity translated into the first concert offered to the public by the newly established ensemble “Decimino”: ten performers who had the pleasure of entertaining the affectionate public with a first concert which took place on 5th June, 2021.

The closeness and the great affection of the city have always been one of the reasons that have pushed the Civica Filarmonica to continue its mission uninterruptedly since 1830 and this concert was indeed testimony of it: a precious confirmation of the will to look ahead, overcome difficulties and unexpected events, always aiming for new and ambitious goals.
