Back in 2017, during a meeting of the annual conducting masterclass held in Rocca di Caprileone (Messina/Italy), Franco Cesarini was a guest teacher. In this occasion he shared with the organisers of the event the fact that he had Sicilian origins which was confirmed after some research. This is how Maestro Cesarini was conferred honorary citizenship of Bisacquino (Palermo) for the “notable contribution that his compositions have given to the world of music”. Franco Cesarini composed Suite Siciliana, Op. 57b, a 7-movement suite for concert band, as a tribute to this town.
