Over two years have passed since Edition Franco Cesarini was founded. It is time to look back at what was achieved in terms of editorial output. The goals have been reached and as to date we are proud to list 31 oeuvres for concert band, wind orchestra, brass band, fanfare and double wind quintet, 3 CD’s and one publication of studies for flute.
The debut has been with Symphony No. 3, Urban Landscapes (EFC 001), followed by an almost equally demanding piece: Sinfonietta No. 3 “Zwölfmalgrein Sketches” (EFC 002).
A real success up to now is 60 Warm-up Chorales for Concert Band (EFC 003), followed by the first two arrangements of classical music under EFC’s label: Passacaglia and Fugue in C-minor BWV 582 (EFC 004) and Psyché et Éros from the Symphonic Poem “Psyché” (EFC 021).
2021 have also seen the publication of five pieces for double wind quintet: Pastorale de Provence (EFC 006), Le Cortège de Roi Renaud (EFC 007), Suite Siciliana (EFC 008), Divertimento (EFC 009) and Greek Folk Dances (EFC 010). The recordings of the above pieces can be found on the first CD produced by EFC: Divertimento (EFC 011).
40 Selected Studies for Flute (EFC 016-B) which includes studies by J. Andersen, B.N. Berbiguier, Th. Böhm, J. Demersseman, G. Gariboldi revised by Franco Cesarini was also published in 2021.
In 2022 the CD Urban Landscapes (EFC 019-CD) was produced: it includes three original works – Symphony no. 3, Sinfonietta no. 3 and Suite Siciliana as well as one arrangement, Passacaglia and Fugue in C-minor BWV 582. The CD was recorded with the Civica Filarmonica di Lugano conducted by Franco Cesarini.
As far as pieces for concert band, 2022 has seen the release of other compositions: A Glorious Fanfare in its three versions for concert band, brass band and fanfare (EFC 014, EFC 038, EFC 013 respectively) and Suite Siciliana (EFC 012).
Worth to mention the revised version of Mosaici Bizantini, now available under EFC label (EFC 029).
Alongside important original works such as Notes from the Road (EFC 030), Bright Dawn Overture (EFC 015), and Greek Folk Song Suite No. 2 (EFC 018), 2023 has seen the release of a series of arrangements of classical music: Festmusik der Stadt Wien (EFC 005), Coronation March (EFC 020), Radetzky-Marsch (EFC 022), L’Arlésienne (EFC 023), Galop (EFC 024), Nimrod (EFC 025), Interlude (EFC 026).
Two marches – Tamm (EFC 031) and Siebnen EFC (017), were also published in 2023.
An important project of this year has been the recording of the CD Classic meets Contemporary EFC 035-CD) with the Royal Netherlands Army Band ‘Johan Willem Friso’ conducted by Franco Cesarini, which includes both a selection of original works as well as arrangements by Franco Cesarini.
